Climate resilience notably absent from federal housing plan

As Canada unveils its ambitious housing plan, one critical aspect seems conspicuously absent…climate resilience. Craig Stewart, from the Insurance Bureau of Canada, expressed concern over the government's failure to address the growing threat of extreme weather events. While applauding the initiative to build millions of new homes, Stewart stressed the importance of incorporating climate resilience into infrastructure development. With climate-related losses reaching alarming levels, urgent action is needed to mitigate risks and ensure Canada's preparedness for the challenges ahead.
